How to save money when you are on a low budget.
With the economy being in a terrible state at the moment, it can be very difficult (if not downright impossible) to save money. Luckily, even if you are on a budget, saving money can be done with a few clever tricks!
Most moms are already thrifty but there are many other ways that we are not even aware of that can help us save. For example, if you enjoy taking your kids on outings to the zoo, the movies and children’s venues, have you considered looking at event listings in your area? Many free (or nearly free) events are advertised on Facebook and local websites and you and your kids can have loads of fun at free and seasonal festivals if we can have any this summer.
The boring bit about saving money
As boring as it sounds, take a careful look at your bank statement and analyze where you are spending money unnecessarily. Did you sign up for a subscription and forget to cancel? Do you really need to pay for a gym subscription when the community center is much cheaper?
Everyone loves eating out but if you’re serious about saving money, try and limit eating out to once or twice a month only. You’d be surprised at the difference it makes (plus it will feel like more of a treat when you do eat out).
Have a credit card that you are paying off? If you can, try and pay it off as soon as possible because the interest you pay each month is a killer! Once it’s been paid off, switch to using a more savvy method of payment, like a debit card or cash.
Finally, if you are already trying to save money in all areas, why not take it a step further and see if you can reduce your insurance premium, cell phone or electricity bill by comparing service providers?
