If your wardrobe is bursting at its seams but yet you still struggle to find something suitable to wear everyday, you may want to consider a spring clean and only keeping items that are ready to wear and comfortable to you.

You would be surprised at how little you actually need in your closet to take you from the office, drinks after work, a formal event and a relaxing and casual weekend. A ready to wear wardrobe consisting of a few key pieces that can easily be mixed and matched is perfect for any wardrobe capsule.

Start a wardrobe capsule

With a wardrobe capsule, less is definitely more and it takes away the complication and frustration of finding something to wear, regardless of what your dress code needs to be.

To start your own wardrobe capsule, you should only consider items that you feel comfortable in, pieces that flatter you and garments in neutral colors (such as black, navy blue, white and tan). In this way, you can get dressed in the morning with little fuss and in a fraction of the time that you usually spend on getting dressed.

Great examples of items you could have in your ready to wear, capsule wardrobe could include one or two pairs of workout pants with tops, layering items (such as cardigans and light jackets), classic jeans and pants, a maxi dress plus one that is shorter and a few pairs of shoes that can be worn with most of what you have.

Accessoirize!

Because accessories can really dress up an outfit, think carefully about which ones you want to have in your wardrobe. We recommend keeping a classic scarf that can be worn in several different ways, a chunky as well as a delicate necklace, some timeless earrings and a few bracelets.

Once you have been using your ready to wear wardrobe for a week or so, you will be delighted at how simple getting dressed has become, not to mention the time saved!
